What's New from GE Profile in 2026?

GE Profile's CES 2026 lineup is built around one idea: getting dinner on the table faster with less mental overhead. From a refrigerator with a built-in barcode scanner to a wall oven that identifies your food by camera, these are real tools for real kitchens. PHAD Home Appliance (Pacific Home and Appliance Distribution) carries the full GE Profile line and can show you these innovations in person.

The Kitchen Assistant Refrigerator: Your Grocery List Lives Here Now

The headline product from GE Profile's 2026 showcase is the Kitchen Assistant Refrigerator, and the feature that's going to matter most to busy households is the built-in barcode scanner.

Here's the idea. Someone finishes the orange juice. Instead of a sticky note on the counter or a mental note that gets forgotten, they scan the empty carton right at the fridge. It goes directly to a shared digital shopping list that the whole household can access and update. No app to remember to open. No grocery list sitting on the kitchen counter while you're standing in the store aisle.

The same refrigerator connects to a recipe library through partners like Taste of Home and King Arthur Baking. Pick a recipe, and the ingredients populate immediately. No scrolling through a food blogger's backstory to find the ingredient list. Tap what you need and it goes straight to the shopping list, or directly to an Instacart order if you'd rather skip the store entirely.

For Hawaii families, that last part is worth noting. Grocery runs here aren't always a quick errand. If you're in Kailua or Hawaii Kai, the store might be 20 minutes away. Reducing unnecessary trips has real value.

There's also a Fridge Focus Camera mounted in the top of the refrigerator, pointing down at the crisper drawers. It keeps a live view of your produce so you can check from the store whether you actually have cucumbers left. Fresh produce is the most expensive thing in any refrigerator, and in Hawaii's Pacific island climate, it doesn't last as long as it might on the mainland. Less overbuying means less waste.

The water dispenser on this model goes beyond the standard Autofill feature GE Profile is known for. The new Precise Fill lets you dial in exact measurements by ounces, cups, or fractions. Measuring cup optional.

The Kitchen Assistant Wall Oven: The Camera Sees What You're Cooking

The Wall Oven works as a companion to the refrigerator, running the same recipe library and syncing the two so your meal plan carries from shopping through cooking without any re-entry.

The most interesting feature is the built-in Cook Cam, a camera mounted in the top of the oven door. Put your salmon in. The camera sees salmon. The oven recommends the right cooking mode and temperature and gets to work. That's not just a convenience feature, it's genuinely useful on nights when you're cooking something you don't make often and you'd otherwise be second-guessing yourself.

The oven also has a microphone and speakers built in. Voice timers, multiple timers running at once, podcast audio while you cook, all of it hands-free. For anyone who's tried to navigate a touchscreen with doughy hands, that's a real improvement. The display can also show a three-day weather forecast, sync with a family Google calendar, and display personal photos, which makes it feel more like a kitchen hub than a cooking appliance.

The New Laundry Pair: Combo Washer-Dryer Plus a Steam Closet

GE Profile is redefining what a laundry pair means. The traditional pairing of a washer and dryer is getting replaced, at least in their lineup, with a combo washer-dryer plus a steam closet.

The Two-in-One UltraFast Combo runs on 120V, so no special electrical hookup required. It washes and dries a full load in about 90 minutes. For Hawaii homes, especially condos in Kakaako or Ward Village where laundry space is tight and 240V hookups may not be available, that plug-and-play power requirement opens up a lot of installation options.

The Steam Closet also runs on 120V and handles its own water supply through a built-in tank, no plumbing connection needed. It's designed for delicate items and garments that would normally go to the dry cleaner. Put it in your closet, your hallway, wherever it fits. It sanitizes through steam rather than chemicals, which tends to be gentler on fabric.

Together, the combo unit and the steam closet eliminate two friction points: the transfer step between washer and dryer, and the dry cleaning errand. That's a meaningful upgrade for anyone with a busy schedule.

Opal Mini: The Nugget Ice Maker Gets Smaller

The Opal Nugget Ice Maker has a dedicated following, and the complaint GE Profile hears most often is that the original is too big for apartments, dorm rooms, or smaller kitchens. The Opal Mini addresses that directly. Same chewy nugget ice, same production speed, smaller footprint. GE Profile is also testing color options and gathering feedback on which directions people want to see the line go.

For Hawaii households where counter space is at a premium, a smaller countertop ice maker that still produces real nugget ice is going to be a popular option.

Panel-Ready Dishwashers: Integrated, Not Bolted On

GE Profile's new panel-ready dishwashers are designed to sit flush with cabinetry and accept custom panels so they disappear into the kitchen design. The antimicrobial technology on the control points and interior is a practical addition, since dishwasher odors and bacteria buildup are more common in Hawaii's tropical humidity than in drier climates. Keeping those surfaces treated helps.

The New Side-by-Side Refrigerator: Custom Ice, Coming This Fall

GE Profile's new side-by-side refrigerator is expected to arrive in October 2025. It includes an Autofill Pitcher that stays full of filtered water in the fridge, ready to bring to the table or grab for a single serving, alongside the standard LED backlit interior that makes everything easy to find.

The freezer runs two ice makers. One produces standard cubes. The second, Custom-Size, lets you choose between large format ice for cocktails or smaller pieces for iced coffee. Pacific homeowners who entertain regularly will recognize the value of that choice.
